Last weekend, at the Etihad Stadium, it was always going to be difficult to get a result, against Manchester City.
City were the dominant force in the Premier League last season, deservedly winning the title, whilst Fulham, having just been promoted to the top-flight of English football, were, as Slavisa Jokanovic put it, a little tentative when it came to their play.
But this week the Cottagers face a different challenge when Watford, who have started the 2018 / 2019 season well, visit Craven Cottage for a Premier League fixture.
Most Fulham supporters, including myself, will see this as a match we should be winning if we are to do more than just survive in this league.
The above perception of how the game will turn out is also echoed by a respected television pundit.
Mark Lawrenson, working for the BBC, is tipping Fulham to win 2-1, although he does point out that our opponents have a tendency to finish games strongly which could point to a nail-biting last ten minutes or so.
Sat here in the editorial chair, I’m predicting Fulham will win this one 2-0, but how do the Vital Fulham fraternity see this one going?
