As we get set to enter the second half of the 2019 / 2020 Championship season, Fulham find themselves handily placed in the race for promotion.
The Cottagers sit in fourth place, some way behind the leading duo of West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United, but a place in the play-offs is still well within our grasp.
However, our recent form is, to put it mildly, a little unpredictable.
After three defeats, Fulham managed to stop the rot by producing a decent display to beat one of those two aforementioned sides above us, Leeds United, last time out.
With the festive break set to bring a glut of fixtures, Fulham return to action on Boxing Day when they make the short trip to Bedfordshire, to take on a Luton Town side, at Kenilworth Road, who, after earning back-to-back promotions, are struggling this season and sat one point above the relegation places currently occupied by Stoke, Wigan and Barnsley.
On paper, it is the kind of fixture that Fulham should win, but our season has been littered with failures against just such sides.
Hopefully, Scott Parker will send his starting eleven out fully motivated and ready to play the Hatters off the park, is that too much to hope for in relation to a late Christmas present?
