When Your Luck Is Out It Really Is Out

|

When you find yourselves in the predicament Fulham find themselves in, whereby relegation looks an absolute certainty unless Scott Parker can oversee a miracle, you tend to look for a glimmer of hope when it comes to the next game.

Fulham’s next game is, this Saturday when they journey to the East Midlands to take on Leicester City.

Our opponents, just like ourselves, have a new incumbent in the managerial hot-seat with Brendan Rodgers having taken over from the axed Claude Puel.

The game is, of course, yet another away game.

If back in August when our hopes for the season were high, you’d have told me that, come March, we’d still be looking for our first away win of the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season, I’d have laughed aloud, but it shows how much of a step up in class there is from the Championship to the Premier League.

But, returning to that glimmer of hope I spoke about in my opening gambit, I was hoping that following a heavy collision, with Ben Foster, last weekend when Leicester City played Watford, Jamie Vardy might miss the game through injury.

Unfortunately, for Fulham, the local news source, the Leicester Mercury, is reporting that despite having several stitches in his tongue, following the aforementioned collision, Vardy will be fit to torment and tease our defence with his electric pace and eye for goal.

I guess when your luck is out it really is out.
