The First Ranieri Transfer Target Has Been Revealed

|

Having spent in excess of £100 million, in the summer transfer window, it’ll be interesting to see what the plans, financially, are for the forthcoming January transfer window.

I seriously doubt whether, during the discussions about taking the managerial role on, Claudio Ranieri would have accepted the job without being told there was some cash to spend.

Results, this season, have shown us that, despite recruiting in that area, the defence remains at the heart of our ills.

Therefore, if Ranieri has been told there is cash available, it doesn’t surprise me that speculation is already linking Fulham with the acquisition of defensive option.

One source, Talksport, is running with the inference that Ranieri has set his sights on bringing Joel Matip to the club.

Matip, 27-years-of-age, is currently on the books of Liverpool and has, obviously, impressed Ranieri when their paths have crossed.

However, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would be willing to sanction a move for the German and, if so, how much he’d cost.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’ll keep a look-out for any further developments on this piece of speculation.
