Opinion: Fulham Support Delighted At The Best News Since The 2018 / 2019 Season Ended

|

When it comes to the events of the last week, it’s fair to say that the best piece of news we’ve had relates to our star striker Aleksander Mitrovic.

Following our relegation from the Premier League, back in May, I was convinced that we’d seen the last of the Serbian in our famous white shirt.

In fact, we reported with a heavy heart fulham-striker-set-to-head-for-warmer-climes, that we believed the player was set for a move to the continent.

But, it seems, that was never a thought that crossed Mitrovic’s mind with The BBC, confirming that the striker has signed a deal that will tie him to our fine club until 2024.

Mitrovic, talking to the official site, explained his reasons for this display of loyalty, remarking:

“I feel great.

“I’m really happy and I’m looking forward to playing here next season.

“There were a lot of clubs interested but in the end I decided to stay here because I’m really happy and settled at Fulham. My kids, wife, all my family are happy here. This is my home and I am really happy to sign a new deal.

“Since the first day I came here I have received a great reception from everyone in the Club and the fans. I feel motivated and every morning when I come here to work I am happy. I have found my happiness and passion here.”

With Mitrovic remaining at the club, our optimism relating to an immediate return to the Premier League has increased dramatically, now let’s get stuck in and make sure it happens.
