Fulham Linked With A Move That Certainly Gets Our Approval

|

Apart from the signing of Ryan Babel, it has been a quiet January transfer window for Fulham.

Hopefully, that will change in the next few days before the window shuts and we’ll witness a flurry of activity.

Today, Sunday, one news source, the Sun, is suggesting that Fulham could be set to bring in an experienced right-sided player, before the transfer window closes, with the player in question being Antonio Valencia.

Valencia, currently on the books of Manchester United, where he has made in excess of 200 appearances, isn’t able to get regular first-team action at the moment.

The Ecuadorian international was expected to leave in the summer but any move for the player, from Fulham, could see the player allowed to leave.

However, it also appears that Fulham could have competition for the player with our referenced source also implying Newcastle United are interested in the player.

Our view is that Valencia would be an ideal purchase, he’s solid in defence and very good going forward, but would he be interested in dropping down into a relegation scrap?

Here at Vital Fulham, we’ll keep an eye out for any developments and report back as deemed appropriate.
