Pre-match we`d hoped that Danny Murphy, against a former club, could do us all a favour and nick the winning goal.
As it turned out he came close on a couple of occasions but couldn`t quite find the back of the net.
After the game, Danny recalled how he felt it should have gone, remarking,
‘On chances, we’re a bit disappointed not to win, but, before the game, maybe we would’ve taken a draw. “
‘Their keeper has made three great saves, and ours has only had to make one.”
‘We’re pleased with the quality of performance – we’re playing one of the teams who are touted to finish in the top four. “
‘It keeps the run going and the level of performance has remained high.’
With our next opponents, Chelsea, having dropped more points today and being in the middle of a run of only one win in their last seven games, I`ve not looked forward to a local derby so much in ages.
