As Fulham, courtesy of that 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, slip into the relegation zone, the tabloid press have gone into overdrive this morning about Martin Jol`s future.

Whilst one tabloid publishes some quotes from the bard that they are backing Jol, others suggest that the Dutchman could be set for a return to Hamburg.

Jol`s contract is into its second and last year with Fulham having exercised the option of that second year, but the suggestion is that no talks are currently planned to discuss a further extension.

Hamburg, last week, sacked their manager Thorsten Fink and Jol is amongst the front-runners to succeed him, along with Markus Babbel.

Whilst it is anticipated that Fulham would reject an approaches from Hamburg, the tabloid press seem to be championing the possibility that the former Brighton boss, Gus Poyet, would be the favourite to jump into the Fulham hot-seat.

We can only wait and see.
