It would seem that not even a man-of-the-match display was enough to satisfy Roy Hodgson!

However, we`d hazard a guess that you don`t survive so long in football management and become so well respected unless you`re prepared to push players that lit bit harder.

Therefore, whilst we`re grateful that Jimmy Bullard has proven to be such an instant hit since his return, we`re also kind of grateful that Hodgson has the urge to push Jimmy even harder as we seek to move away form the relegation zone.

Speaking to the assembled media, prior to the match on Sunday, this is what Roy had to say about Jimmy`s role in the team,

“The way we`re playing suits Jimmy quite well, he likes to be in that attacking midfield role.”

“But we can get more out of him going forward than we`re doing at the moment, and we`ll work on that.”

“We can get a little bit more out of him in the offensive side of the game because Jimmy has goals in him and he will also set goals up.”

I guess Roy would settle for but still perhaps after more than one goal and an assist a game!
