That cheeky smile, that carefree demeanour and that effervescent personality continue to single Jimmy Bullard out as something special, something different and as somebody we can pin our hopes on with regards to climbing the table.

Perhaps after that training ground bust up with Chris Baird and then scoring the winner on Sunday, Jimmy was always going to be in the spotlight.

Nevertheless, it`s good to see him match his bubbly personality with some pearls of wisdom as well. Following on from the Villa victory, Jimmy went on to talk eloquently about playing under Roy Hodgson and also survival.

This is what he had to say,

“It`s brilliant for Roy to get his first win. He knows what we need to do to survive – he is the best manager I`ve played under.”

“Roy`s experience is second to none and he is a brilliant man-manager – he`s a different class. We are in a dogfight, right to the last game – the gaffer drums it into us week in, week out.”

“Now it is so important that we build on this. There are still a lot of games to be played and a lot of points to play for.”

“We know we`re still in a fight but if we show that kind of spirit every week we`ll be fine.
