It may have been another three points that slipped by and we may still be in dire straits with regards to our Premier League survival but there is still reason to hope.

There are seven games left and from those seven games there is a possibility, albeit small, that we could win twenty-one points. Therefore, whilst there is hope we`ll not throw in the towel and neither will Roy Hodgson.

This is what he had to say after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle,

“We were two points behind Bolton and we are now three points adrift. Birmingham, who were four points ahead of us at the start of the day are still four points ahead.”

“We have got seven games to play. But it was a significant move for Sunderland, with their excellent win at Aston Villa, so we have lost touch with them.”

“But having said that, seven matches, a lot of things can happen. We have got to keep believing that our football can get us out of this situation.”

It`s not over until the fat lady sings is it Roy!
