With hubby seemingly determined to spend the night on the south coast I thought I`d fill the breach in his absence.
Naturally I`m as pleased as punch that the boys eeked out that valuable win needed to ensure survival, even though hubby will probably be comatose by the time his mates drop him off at some unearthly hour.
With four wins out of the last five games, Roy Hodgson deserves all the plaudits coming his way, if there was a £1 million bonus I`m sure that Al Fayed would have no qualms about writing him a cheque here and now.
Talking to Sky Sports after the game, Roy was asked if it was his greatest achievement, amongst other things, this is what he had to say,
‘The press asked me if it was my best achievement and I said, ‘Yes, it is, because you’re going to write it anyway so I might as well say it’.’ .
‘I think I’ll stick to that one. I’ll have it as my greatest achievement because it was my last and people are going to write it anyway, so I might as well not argue with them.’
‘It’s a wonderful achievement for the players, great work from the coaching staff – I’m delighted for them and everyone at the club, the chairman in particular and the fans.
‘It’s just a great day for us.”
