With kick-off some six hours away, the butterflies are starting to kick-in.

To be so close to a semi-final place but having such tough opposition stood in front of us, is a strange experience.

It`ll either be heartache or glory tonight, a time to toast our team or a time to drown our sorrows.

On the eve of the match though, Roy Hodgson has stipulated exactly what`s required for it to be a wonderful night, explaining,

“I suppose this is our cup final in a way, but if we win then we want another one. We believe we can get a result if we play very, very well.”

“They would have to play quite below their standards maybe but there`s no question we have belief.”

“It`s about being good enough and working hard enough and doing our jobs properly when they have the ball and using it wisely when we have it.”

Heed those words you gallant men and we just might be on the verge of the experience of the season!

  • Just make every effort to win it, outright. I don’t want a replay and I don’t want to lose it 1-0 at the death. Blaze of glory, and all that kind of stuff. Good luck, gentlemen!

  • What you needed was a confidence boost from the manager pre-game,you’ve been fantastic at home this season,so why not be confident and go for it?Its a Cup game after all, nothing to loose, but i think recent words from Hodgson(and i know he’s done brilliantly for you this season)may have done you a disservice in regards to morale.Utd have been pushed close by 2 teams lower than you in the league in the past week(hard to say being a Spurs fan)so why can’t you win it?Come on Fulham!!
