Last week we were al left a little confused over the Danny Murphy situation!
Some of us couldn`t quite grasp the speculation that the media were reporting that Fulham were offering Danny a new contract, we were under the impression that he was already tied to Fulham beyond this season.
Thankfully, Roy Hodgson has gone some way to clearing the matter up, commenting,
“At the start of last season we offered Danny a contract that would automatically lead to a renewal if he played a certain amount of games.”
“That has kicked in and he is here until at least the end of next season, the summer of 2010.”
“He has played week after week. He`s gone two thirds of the season without missing a game, and he might go the last third as well.”
I`d suggest Danny is up there with Brede amongst the contenders for player of the season!
