A report in the Daily Mirror gives the indication that Fulham have missed out on a potential transfer target.
If it is correct, it looks as if Bolton Wanderers have beaten us to the signature of the Swedish striker, Johan Elmander.
Elmander was part of Sweden`s unsuccessful Euro 2008 squad and the Mirror is suggesting that Bolton boss, Gary Megson, is prepared to pay as much as £11 million to capture the forward.
Currently playing for Toulouse, it looks as if a late intervention from Fulham, declaring an interest, wasn`t enough to scupper Bolton`s deal.
All we`ll say is that £11 million seems a little steep for a humble club like ours to be coughing up for one player doesn`t it?
