A report in the Daily Mirror gives the indication that Fulham have missed out on a potential transfer target.

If it is correct, it looks as if Bolton Wanderers have beaten us to the signature of the Swedish striker, Johan Elmander.

Elmander was part of Sweden`s unsuccessful Euro 2008 squad and the Mirror is suggesting that Bolton boss, Gary Megson, is prepared to pay as much as £11 million to capture the forward.

Currently playing for Toulouse, it looks as if a late intervention from Fulham, declaring an interest, wasn`t enough to scupper Bolton`s deal.

All we`ll say is that £11 million seems a little steep for a humble club like ours to be coughing up for one player doesn`t it?

  • We Could get crouch for that!

Or a combination of Aaron Lennon, Dawson and Tanio from spurs

  • 11 million quid?? The days of Marlet style signings are gone. I’d be very surprised if RH has been given much more than 10 million or so to go and buy players for next season after the idiot blew all that money last summer. Where on earth do Bolton get 11 million quid from anyway? How much did they get for Anelka again?

  • good point there alexlarge. I can’t get it out of my head what RH would have been able to do for us with the cash we gave the ‘idiot’!

  • Elmander’s a good player – never quite lived up to early promise – but he’s certainly not 11 million worth!
