Having achieved promotion, via the Play-Off Final, the Fulham support are eager to see who the club bring in this close season to strengthen the squad.
Today, one piece of speculation, courtesy of the news source, the Mirror, infers that Fulham are looking at a player who made a dramatic impact in the Championship last season.
The player in question is the 21-year-old Norwich City midfielder, James Maddison.
Last season, the attacking midfielder, who is rated at £25 million by his club, scored 15 goals, a more than decent tally, even more so considering it was his first season in the Championship.
Although Norwich City are reluctant to lose their asset, a reduction in parachute payments means they may have little choice.
However, as you’d expect when such a talented prospect comes on the market, Fulham do have rivals for his signature with both Everton and Leicester City getting mentioned by our source.
But, whilst we’re all for our club entering the race to sign such a talented young prospect, I can’t help feeling that with this being our first season back in the top-tier of English football, perhaps bringing in players with a bit more experience might be a wiser option.
Here at Vital Fulham, we’ll do our utmost to keep abreast of the situation and report back further as deemed necessary.
