I`d hazard a guess that next Sunday could very well be considered the biggest game in our history.

Although we`ve always been a little apprehensive about qualifying for Europe, especially with all the extra games and travel involved, it does give our club the chance to promote itself on a bigger stage.

If we can avoid defeat against Everton, it`ll not matter what Spurs do up at Liverpool. Seventh place will be ours and that crucial last European qualifying place.

After the 1-0 win against Newcastle, up at St James Park, Aaron Hughes commented on what has been a great season, remarking,

“The priority for us this season was to stay in the league, make sure we got to 40 points as quickly as possible and not struggle as we did last time. We`ve ended up doing a fair bit more than that and what`s pleasing is the way we`ve done it.”

“We know we`re close to a European place and we`d certainly take that, but that has to go down as a real bonus. Hopefully, we`ll have a good summer and take it from there. Every year the league has a team that surprises you and we`ve done that.”

Surprised! Pleased as punch I`d say!
