Yesterday we reported how Fulham had made an improved offer for the West Bromwich Albion player, Jonathan Greening.

It was, apparently, dismissed out of hand by the West Bromwich chairman, Jeremy Peace who is quoted in the leading tabloids this morning as remarking,

“He is our captain and is a vital member of the squad, so we didn`t give Fulham`s offer a second thought.”

“It`s derisory for a player of Jonathan`s talent and experience.”

“We made it clear at the end of last season that, should any player leave, it would be on our own terms.”

Al fair enough but, according to both The Sun and the Daily Mirror the waters have been further rippled with the player in question, Jonathan Greening, having put in a transfer request in some sort of protest at Fulham`s offer being dismissed with such derision.

Here at Vital Fulham we suspect that this is one deal that whether we like it or not could be on the verge of materialising.
