Yesterday, here at Vital Fulham, we ran an article carrying an update on the clubs’ quest to sign the Besiktas goalkeeper Fabri.
In our article Click Here, we had a feeling in our bones that the deal had every chance of being concluded soon.
It was a gut-instinct that proved to be correct with the BBC, confirming that the 30-year-old Spanish keeper had put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the club having the option of extending it by a further year.
In joining Fulham, Fabri renews a working relationship with our goalkeeping coach, Jose Sambade Carreira, with the duo having worked together whilst at Deportivo La Coruna.
Naturally, Fabri is delighted at having joined Fulham with the club issuing the following tweet;
????️ “I’m delighted to be at an historic club like Fulham, the oldest club in London. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to be in the Premier League with Fulham.” – @FabricioAgosto#FABRILOUS ???? pic.twitter.com/nhFk7771eg

But the big question remains, has the £5 million recruit joined Fulham as a back-up to Marcus Bettinelli or is he the new first choice?
The social media network, carries some interesting interpretations on the deal:
Good signing although I’d like to of seen @marcusbettss get his chance in the prem after his efforts of last season getting us back there. Think he is massively underrated and does not get the credit he deserves.

Clearly the above tweet suggests that the question has yet to be answered, but another tweet would suggest he has been brought in to be the new number one:
Not at all. No room for sentiment. Betts is average. Back up Prem at best

I guess we’ll only find out when the team-sheet for the first fixture of the new season is revealed.
But, one thing is for certain, the Besiktas support are saddened to lose their keeper, as the following posting illustrates:
