Lurking in the media this morning is the inference that our fine football club are being linked with the acquisition of a striker.

Whilst we fully expected that the Newcastle striker, Aleksander Mitrovic, would be our prime striking target, it appears that there is now another name in the frame.

According to the popular tabloid publication, the Sun, Fulham are looking at bringing the Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose to the club.

Willian Jose, a Brazilian, is 26-years-of-age and is rated in the £26 million bracket, a large fee for a club of our stature and previous record in the transfer market.

But, if the speculation is correct, I fear that it signals the end of any interest in Mitrovic.

Now whether Newcastle or even the player, are reluctant to do a deal with Fulham remains to be seen.

But, considering the fees being mentioned I’d be very surprised if Fulham, even with their new status as a Premier League side, would contemplate buying both.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’re hoping that a deal for Mitrovic can still be delivered but then again, we’d not be averse to a little bit of Brazilian magic in the side, how about you?

Please feel free to leave your views in the comments section beneath this article, they’d be most welcome.

  • Mitro was great for Fulham last year. I do wonder if he will be as good in the prem. However we don’t know if Jose would be any good either. Therefore it may be better go with the player we know.
