It was a subject we touched on last, the possibility of a certain Jimmy Bullard making his return from a second injury against the very club he chose to leave last January.
Well now it`s looking far more likely to happen with the man himself happy to jest about such a thing in an interview published in the media this morning.
With his name penciled in for a reserve outing this week, Bullard is quoted as having remarked,
“It would be funny if it turns out to be against Fulham with them being my former club.”
“But that`s just the way it is.”
“For me the most important factor will be that I`m back playing again and not who I`m playing against.”
“I`m hoping to get a couple of games under my belt before then. I`ve an outing for the reserves planned and it will be good to go out there, get a bit of fitness back and get used to competitive football again.”
“I`ve been in the gym for what feels like forever, but playing football is what I`ve wanted to do all my life and now I finally can.”
A part of me wishes him luck as we`d not wish serious injury on any player but another part of me can`t wait to give him more than a few verbals!
