The last couple of games have seen our Norwegian international, Brede Hangeland, miss the home fixture against FC Basel but making a comeback against West Ham, on Sunday.
Rumours were rife that Brede had picked up a slight ankle knock whilst others, in circulation, implied he was just being rested for the Europa League fixture.
It turns out that the former were in fact right.
It transpires that Brede has withdrawn from the Norwegian international squad with a slight ankle knock, with the official line from Brede being,
“My ankle`s a bit painful but I am going to use the break to get fit.”
Good to see the club being put before country on this occasion.
