Fulham`s promotion charge continued with yet another fine home win last night.
The Cottagers, the form team in the Championship made it fourteen games without a loss as they dismantled a Sheffield United side that also have ambitions of playing a part in the promotion shake-up come May.
The star of the show, for Fulham, was their on-loan striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored a brace to make it five goals in his last four games and left the Craven Cottage support wondering why Newcastle can`t find a place for him in their relegation threatened side.
Mitrovic opened the scoring, for Fulham, in the thirtieth minute when he headed home a cross from Ryan Fredericks.
Before the half-time break could arrive, Fulham had doubled their lead when Mitrovic exchanged passes with Johansen to coolly slot home.
Leading 2-0 at the break, Fulham were in control and the three points were emphatically wrapped up when, with Sheffield United pushing forward, Fulham launched a quick counter-attack that ended in Tom Cairney finding the net.
Fulham have started 2018 in impressive fashion, taking 29 points from the 33 available, now that, in anyone`s book, is promotion form.
