A fourteen game unbeaten run, in the Championship, has seen Fulham emerge as contenders to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Last night, Fulham welcomed Sheffield United to Craven Cottage and the Blades were well and truly blunted with the Cottagers running out very worthy 3-0 winners.

Following the game, both managers spoke to the media and one of the topics up for comment was the form of our on-loan signing Aleksander Mitrovic, who has now netted five goals in his last four appearances for the club.

Slavisa Jokanovic had this to say about his striker, whilst also offering a few words on the game,

‘He is a quality player, he has started well with us. He is a proper striker that we have been looking for.

‘We are fourth in the Championship, we are playing with confidence, we know we can beat all teams in the division.

‘We have to be mentally strong and push hard for the next step. It’s important we keep winning the games and the stats are less important.’

As for Chris Wilder, the Sheffield United manager had this to add,

‘Mitrovic is an outstanding player and thankfully we won’t be coming up against him in the next 11 games. He’s going to the World Cup, Newcastle paid what for him? £15m? He should be playing in the Premier League.

‘We were well beaten in the end. It is no disgrace getting beaten to a team bang in form, a team that has won every game at home since the start of November.

‘I’d rather be here on a Tuesday night in London than being somewhere else in another league like we have been for the last six years.’

A very honest assessment from Chris Wilder and here at Vital Fulham we`d like to wish Sheffield United all the best for the remainder of the season.
