Unfortunately, whilst in that fixture we had taken the chances that had come our way , yesterday was the complete opposite with Kacaniklic, Dejagah and Ruiz all squandering decent chances before the break.
Blackpool emerged for the second half believing they could get a result that would go down as a cup-shock and on the hour mark their endeavour was rewarded when Delfouneso, on loan from Aston Villa, pulled a low ball back for Ludovic Sylvestre to smash home from the edge of the area.
Fulham now had it all to do and survived a scare that could have seen the go 2-0 down when Ince almost got on the end of a miscue from Eardley. But with ten minutes left, Fulham were level when having believed they`d cleared Ruiz`s corner, Blackpool were stunned to see Giorgis Karagounis crash home a shot into the top corner of the net.
Searching for a winner, Fulham were almost rewarded three minutes from time when Ruiz saw his header come back off the bar.
So it`s off to Bloomfield Road for the replay, Blackpool in January, not very alluring is it!
