Our left winger signed on loan for the Addicks on transfer deadline day and the 25-year-old says he hopes to play an integral part of their push for promotion.

Cook is nearing full fitness after a hip injury he sustained during his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury but he insists he’s almost 100% and raring to go.

He told the Charlton’s official website: ‘I can’t wait to get started. I’m really pleased to be here. It’s a great club and I’m looking forward to getting the first game under my belt and hopefully playing a lot of games here.

‘Obviously I’ve been out for a while, but I don’t want people to think I’ve come here to use this as a place to get fit. I want to show the Charlton fans what I can do.

‘I was out for five months with a knee injury, and then in my first game back, I unfortunately strained a muscle in my hip. That was three weeks ago and now I’m only a week away from resuming full training again, so I’m hoping to probably make my debut for Charlton in the Watford game if things go to plan.’
