After a frustrating first-half of the season, things are back on track for Tom Cairney now.

Our club captain has shaken off the niggling knee injury that restricted his appearances in the first-half of the 2017 / 2018 campaign to become one of the first names on Slavisa Jokanovic`s team-sheet.

Tom`s efforts have also seen him regain his place in the Scotland squad with Alex McLeish selecting him again.

With domestic football on hold, Fulham supporters will be hoping Tom, along with another of our side Kevin McDonald, get the opportunity to partake in the two upcoming friendly international fixtures Scotland have, Costa Rica (h) and Hungary (a).

Ahead of those two games, Tom has spoken to the media, remarking about his call-up,

‘I look to do what I do for my club, get on the ball and try and make us play and nick a goal if I can.

‘I’ve been playing well the last few seasons for Fulham. I feel like I’m getting better. I feel like I’m playing good football. Hopefully, I can carry that on in Scotland.

‘I’d like to think that I could try and get a place in this team, as hard as that is. There’s a lot of very good midfield players here.

‘To be selected in Alex McLeish’s first squad is great. There’s a lot of new faces here as well. We have got to kind of hit the ground running if we can as early as possible.

‘New start. New regime. It’s obviously got a good feeling to it, so hopefully we can get off to a good start on Friday.’

Here at Vital Fulham we`re sure every Fulham supporter is hoping Tom gets the chance to shine against Costa Rica and show what a top player he is.
