According to today`s press Giles Barnes says his move to Fulham isn’t as dead as we all thought.

The Derby starlet was sent back to the Midlands club after a string of injuries during his loan spell prevented him breaking into the first team.

Barnes goes on to say that;

‘I’ve been told that Fulham have gone back to Derby a couple of times since I returned, but it’s all down to price,’

‘If it comes off, that would be great, but I’m a Derby player and they’ve looked after me, and I’d be happy to stay here if it’s not meant to be.’

Barnes goes on to explain that Roy sat him down and told him he was what’s needed.

Not only has Roy showed his faith in him, the squad are also backing his return.

Barnes said: ‘I spoke to Danny Murphy and he said he and the rest of the Fulham lads would be disappointed if it didn’t come off.

I have always rated Barnes, and as soon as we let Bullard go I was shouting for him to be the replacement. He has fantastic potential; he is quick, clever, skilled and has a fantastic touch and shot. The fact he scored 4 in 4 for the reserves as well as setting up a few shows what he can do. I really do hope this comes through and can see him coming on loan till January with a view to making the move permanent.

As always, what are your thoughts?
