An interesting rumour from the ‘Daily Grapevine` today suggests that Roy Hodgson is in the market for a midfielder.

Now we know the squad needs strengthening, ahead of our Europa League campaign, and we also readily admit that the midfield area is probably the one area that needs tightening up which might explain why we seem to be linked with a plethora of midfield talent in recent days.

The latest name to appear on the radar is that of the Blackburn player, Steven Reid.

At twenty-eight years of age, Reid is approaching his prime but here at Vital Fulham we have a major concern.

The lad spent much of last season out injured with a knee problem. Will he be the same player he was before the problem and will he be susceptible to similar problems?

  • Gives us depth. Doesn’t make us better. Doesn’t make us younger. One of three; no thanks.

  • yep… we need depth, class and youth… or some good combination of the three… i’d accept one out of three if they were on a bosman, maybe…

  • I really hope all these rumors are nothing more than paper-talk because if this is the calibre of player we’re looking at, then I’m worried about next season. Let’s show some ambition and spend some money (wisely).
