“Also interested”: Journalist claims there are multiple suitors for Fulham transfer target

|

How do you improve something that is already getting better?

You try and improve it even more. That would appear to be the philosophy that Fulham would be taking if they were to make this move. We probably aren’t going to be favourite to make it happen, but it will be interesting to keep track of this one.

This latest rumour surrounds Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, with the 28-year-old Gambia international could be on his way out of the Serie A outfit, despite having a contract that doesn’t expire until the summer of 2022.

Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur noted that he seems to be a very popular figure, with Turkish side Fenerbache as well as Sheffield United showing an interest, and he seems to have an eye on a move to English football at the same time (you may have to click on the tweet to translate and see it properly):

How many CBs will we sign next window?

2 or fewer

More than 2

Whilst I’ve talked about Fulham having too many players in certain positions before, most notably central midfield, I feel that given our situation down the bottom of the table, defence is probably a position we can’t get enough of.

It may be a case of one in one out, potentially sacrificing a senior figure like Tim Ream or Denis Odoi in order to make way, but to bring in someone as experienced in a big European league, but who is younger and more physical to offer us another option to our ball-playing ones we have now, might not be too shabby a decision to make.

What about you? What do you make of this news?
