Bobby Zamora remains very much in a ‘whatever will be, will be’ frame of mind as far as his England chances go, although according to Vital England the Fulham striker deserves his chance.

Vital England says: In terms of what Zamora can offer, as he highlighted himself, he offers what Emile Heskey, Peter Crouch and Carlton Cole all offer, the main difference for him being that he really is the man in form at the moment, and form is an ideal thing to have going into the world cup, right?

Yep, he lacks the international experience but there is time for Capello to look at the 29-year-old in training ahead of the world cup, and give him some friendly outings to see what he can do – what, really, have England go to lose by doing this. We have, potentially, a lot more to lose by not…

  • Whatever happens, not saying he particularly deserves to go or not go, but if Amealtoomany Heskey goes and Bobby doesn’t then it’s an effing travesty.

  • I thought he had a decent chance of call-up, but now that he’s picked up the Achilles injury, I think it’s passed.
