A difficult trip to the DW Stadium saw the spoils shared.

After a trip to Rome in midweek, many feared that an away Premier League game may well be the fixture that would see Fulham slip up, especially after Wigan recently destroyed Chelsea.

Thankfully that wasn`t the case.

Played out in front of a paltry crowd of 16,172, the lowest for a Premier League fixture this season, Roy Hodgson again saw his team selection affected by injuries.

Danny Murphy, Andrew Johnson and Diomansy Kamara were all out but after doubts about his fitness Damien Duff was able to take part. Partnering Bobby Zamora up front was Erik Nevland, a player who only saw four minutes of action Rome courtesy of a dodgy referee.

In fact Nevland could have given Fulham a dream start as early as the 10th minute when his header hit the post after a fine cross from Bobby Zamora. But, with only one win on the road, in the Premier League, it wasn`t long before Fulham were playing catch up.

With a quarter of an hour gone Wigan took the lead when Emerson Boyce shot home from six yards out finishing off a move that had seen Paul Scharner produce a perfect flick on.

Mark Schwarzer then had to produce a great save to deny Charles N`Zogbia as Wigan looked to increase their lead. Further attacks involving Hugo Rodallega and Scharner stretched Fulham and it came a something of a surprise when against the run of play Fulham got that equaliser.

It came after Titus Bramble had felled Clint Dempsey in the penalty area with Dempsey picking himself up to score from the spot., his third goal in as many games.

All square at half time Fulham had a good chance to take the lead early in the second half but Kirkland reacted well to deny too first save Dempsey`s free kick and then deny the advancing Jonathan Greening.

Wigan though will believe they could have nicked the win with N`Zogbai who twice tested Schwarzer.

All in all it was a valuable point that sees us nicely sitting mid table.
