Not even waiting until the morning after can inspire me to write anything positive about this affair.

It was one of those games whereby you really sit and ponder if it was worth all that effort to view it. Getting up early on a Saturday morning, enduring mile after mile of motorway, sitting in a freezing stadium where there were more empty seats than supporters and then getting chilled to the bone by a wintry shower.

Sometimes, such games fall in the category whereby you can tell your mates, you were there, that you made the effort and to hell with the result. However, more often than not you simply arrive home, take a look at your empty wallet and start to question your sanity.

I guess the crux of the matter is that I like to be entertained, after paying out some of my hard earned cash, I like to think I`ve at least had value for money, yesterday, that wasn`t the case it was dismal.

Chris Coleman may try and sanitise the situation by suggesting a point won away form home is something akin to a result but when the sum total of shots on target, by both sides, is one, then something is seriously wrong.

Indeed, if Fulham were bereft of ideas, Wigan, as the home side, should take more than their fair share of the blame. Apart from a Heskey header, in the first five minutes, their play led to nothing of note as the game stagnated into a midfield contest.

At times I hoped that a bit of passion may spice matters up, that a crude challenge might provide the catalyst to warm the cockles of my heart but it didn`t. Instead, I`m left to ponder over the one hundred and one other ways I could have spent the cash I spent yesterday.

Needless to say though, I`ll be back next game, it can`t be as bad can it?
