With Mark Hughes gone the search is on for his replacement.

Already several names have been thrown into the hat, some, we feel, more favourable than others.

Early contenders are – Martin O`Neill, Steve McClaren, Alan Curbishley, Martin Jol and Carlo Ancelotti.

At this early stage of the search has anyone got any preferences?

  • Ancelloti is obvious non-starter, but Jol or O’Neill would be OK with me. McClaren is a bit of gamble. I don’t think he’s up for it. Curbishley has been away from the game for a while, which is concerning, but it’s hard to criticize his CV. He also knows how to operate on a budget.

  • Regardless of who is selected, we need to act quickly. Europa League is looming and we’re in desperate need of some new players at key positions. Hard to make any moves until a manager is chosen.

  • I would like martin jol oneil is great but is likely to do a hughes and walk out

  • I’m more concerned about what the revolving door of managers will do to our roster. Players won’t be happy with a new manager every 12 months and we can’t afford to replace a Hangeland or Zamora.

  • Don’t see McClaren as the man to take us forward, my choice would be Jol if he’ll come but I’m not so sure he will I have a feeling that all the stuff last year was just to get more money out of Ajax but I hope I’m proved wrong.

  • curbishly and mcclaren don’t make sense to me… but i’m remember mcclaren more from the england job than his time at middleboro…
