Up at St James Park, Ryan Sessegnon showed exactly why he`s coveted by so many top clubs.

The 16-year-old gave a performance that belied his years and scored two goals with all the coolness of a seasoned professional.

However, yesterday a golden opportunity was missed to make the game the most memorable of young Ryan`s career.

Having bagged a brace of goals already, it was Ryan that was fouled by Paul Dummett in the last few minutes of the game, for the spot-kick.

Ryan picked the ball up and strode towards the penalty spot.

It looked as if the youngster was going to take the spot-kick and claim a hat-trick.

However, Tim Ream pulled rank on the teenager and took the responsibility for the kick, only to drive it wide of the post.

I wonder what young Ryan thought as the ball sailed the wrong side of the post!
