I`ve just got in!

The journey across London, on the District Line, wasn`t an enjoyable one. As the train stopped at station after station, I was contemplating going straight down the pub and leaving this until the morning, but it was a case of – if I don`t put pen to paper now I`d never get around to doing it.

So, six defeats in a row it is and for this sixth successive defeat I have to admit we simply were not good enough. Never, at any stage of the game, did we look like taking anything back from Upton Park.

Sure, we might have weathered the first half barrage, with the woodwork saving us early on and Stekelenberg performing well in goal, but it really was a case of it`ll only be a matter of time. But when the breakthrough finally came for the home side, it was made even harder to bear as the goal, from a Mo Diame shot, took a huge deflection before beating Stekelenberg.

Deep down I hoped that going a goal behind might prompt a Fulham response but it wasn`t that forthcoming with only Kasami getting anywhere near a strike on target, that`s right, in the whole 90 minutes we never actually got a shot on target.

As hopes began to melt away into the night sky, we were to concede two late goals, the first (the second of the game) coming when Carlton Cole slid in to meet a low cross from Downing and the final goal came after Ravel Morrison weaved his way past a few static Fulham defenders to set up Joe Cole who made no mistake from just inside the box.

Where do we go from here?

I`m not really sure but getting rid of Jol is getting more appealing by the game, especially when his post-match interview contained the line – well they played well in training! Well wouldn`t anyone against a team of plastic cones!

Right, now I’m off to the pub to drown my sorrows!
