After being a prominent member of our promotion winning squad last season, the summer must have been a worrying time for our goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli.
The 25-year-old keeper, waiting for a chance to shine in the Premier League, looked on as Fulham signed not one, but two, goalkeepers in Fabri and Rico.
Fears that his Premier League career might have been over before it had even started surfaced.
However, Bettinelli is, once again, a mainstay between the posts and looks set to remain Fulham’s number one choice, having overcome a hamstring injury that saw him miss the opening games of the season.
On the back of doing just that, we couldn’t let it pass and not mention that Bettinelli has just put pen-to-paper on a contract extension that will see him tied to Fulham Football Club until 2020.
Talking to the official Fulham site and as reported by the BBC, Marcus is naturally delighted to have signed his new deal, remarking,
“I love playing for this club and I’m just thankful that I’ve signed a new contract.”
And so are we!
