Unhappy Fulham Goalkeeper May Be Looking To Move On

|

It’s strange how someone’s world can turnaround so quickly.

Take the case of our goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli.

Last season, after playing second fiddle to David Button, Bettinelli managed to oust his rival from the starting eleven to go on to play a pivotal part in our successful promotion campaign.

At 26-years-of-age, Bettinelli would have been looking to play a prominent part in our Premier League campaign.

However, the events of the summer have seen Bettinelli’s position at the club come under threat.

In what was a prolific transfer window, the club brought in two more goalkeepers, Fabrio and Rico.

For the first game of the season, against Crystal Palace, Bettinelli didn’t even make the eighteen man squad with Fabrio starting and Rico on the bench.

This morning, speculation has emerged, courtesy of the news vehicle, the Daily Mail that Bettinelli could be looking to leave Craven Cottage.

At 26-years-of-age, you can hardly blame him, he wants to be playing regular first-team football and doesn’t want to be standing in the background watching from afar.

But, whether the club allows the popular goalkeeper to move on or insists he competes for a place in the starting eleven remains to be seen.

What are your thoughts on the subject matter?

Has Bettinelli been treated badly or is it just the way things had to be as we seek to make an impact in the Premier League?
