It seems an age since the 2016 / 2017 season finished.

I mean, it`s been so long we`ve already got the fixtures released for the 2017 / 2018 season.

But for some, there has been no end-of-season break yet.

The international tournaments continue, the Confederations Cup may have concluded last night, but now, following on quickly, is the U19 Championship.

England, in their first game, take on Bulgaria, in Georgia and somebody who has just put pen-to-paper on a new contract at Craven Cottage, Ryan Sessegnon, is hoping that the U19`s can follow in the path of the U20 side that recently won the U20 World Cup.

Ahead of the tournament starting, Ryan has spoken to the media, remarking,

“We`ve struggled as a country in the past but the U20`s winning gives us that belief.

“Those players aren`t much older than us, so for them to be world champions can inspire us to be European champions. It would mean everything to win it.”

Hopefully that will be the case and Ryan will have a good tournament before getting that well-deserved summer break.
