It seems to me that we`ve stumbled across nothing but goalkeeping tittle-tattle in recent days.

First we had the sudden, and dramatic, recall of David Stockdale, from Hull, following Neil Etheridge picking up a leg injury, now we have the name of a new keeper being thrust in our face by the press.

If the press have got their facts right, it would appear that we are on the verge of adding Sinan Bolat to our squad.

Bolat, a Turkish international, on the books of Standard Liege, is seen by Martin Jol as the perfect back-up to Mark Schwarzer.

Also, throwing into the fray the fact that he`s spent some time at Craven Cottage recovering from a knee injury, makes you suspect Jol knows enough about him to make his move.

As for a price, it`s a relative bargain at a mere £800,000.

But, are we now to assume that Stockdale will be joining Hull, on a permanent basis, in the January transfer window?

  • No, no and no. If Stockdale leaves then whoever’s decision it is has no forward thinking or loyalty.

  • true, i say drop mark and give stockdale a game or two over xmas period. we have to make david our number one he has been so patient…hey but what do i know.
