There Is Light At The End Of That Tunnel

|

In what was a must-win game against Brighton last night, Fulham came back from 2-0 down, at half-time, to snatch, in the end, a well-deserved 4-2 victory.

The result has galvanised hopes that the Cottagers can escape from the relegation zone and preserve their top-flight status for at least another season.

However, before we all get carried away and start talking about a surge up the table to a mid-table position, we should point out that Fulham, even though they won last night, are still six points away from safety, a considerable margin when you consider we’ve only accumulated seventeen points all season.

But, at least we’re on the up, the victory will have improved the confidence in the camp and we head towards the weekend in good spirits.

Following what was a fine result, Claudio Ranieri spoke to the media with the BBC, reporting the Italian as having remarked about our drop-zone plight:

“We can see a little light in front of us.

“It is only a little step but we are alive. We showed very good fighting spirit.”

Indeed we did, at 2-0 down at half-time, we could have folded and been on the end of a bad home defeat,

Continuing, Claudio further added about the comeback:

“The goal from Chambers was very important, it gave the players the opportunity to say ‘we can do something good tonight.

“We gave some good balls to Mitrovic. He is very dangerous with the crosses into the box.

“We deserved to win and played very good football.”

Fingers crossed that when we go to Selhurst Park, this weekend, we can continue from where we left off last night.
