Football can be a strange old game.
Take the case of Ashkan Dejagah.
Dejagah, who scored the winning (and only goal) against Newcastle on Saturday, thereby giving us three very welcome points, has now scored 2 goals in his last 4 Premier League appearances.
Following his winning goal, which came from an appearance off of the bench, Dejagah had this to say,
“It was probably the most important goal I`ve ever scored. I was not really fit, but I only needed 20 minutes on the pitch to make a difference.”
However, returning to the strange nature of our game, we should point out that prior to hitting this run of scoring form Dejagah had only scored 1 in his first 32 Premier League games.
