The biggest disappointment, with regards to the victory we achieved against Southampton, apart from the fact we failed to keep a clean sheet again, was that the result left us bottom of the Premier League table, once the round of fixtures had been completed.
Although the 3-2 win temporarily lifted us off the foot of the table, Huddersfield’s unlikely win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, saw Fulham return to the bottom spot, proving just how hard it is to shake off those unwanted shackles.
In the next fortnight, Fulham face two crucial Premier League fixtures, with, as coincidence would have it, the Cottagers taking on Claudio Ranieri’s two former clubs, Chelsea (a) and Leicester City (h).
