The King Fiasco!

After reportedly shaking hands on a deal that would have seen the Watford striker earn circa £40k a week, rumours are now appearing in the press that the deal is as good as dead.

Attempts by Fulham to reduce the fee by £1 million after the medical results threw up a few problems have been seemingly blanked by Watford.

It would also appear that any attempts to pay the transfer fee on an appearance based structure have also floundered.

Perhaps one of the key points, if you`re associated with Watford, is that any funds received have to be divvied up after Watford agreed a clause when signing King from Forest entitling the Midlands club to a portion of any sell-on fee.

Although Ady Boothroyd, the Watford manager, has expressed a desire for the transfer to be confirmed, remarking,

I hope it can be resolved.

It would seem that some sort of stalemate has occurred.

Could this be why several media sources are now linking us to several other strikers including the Glasgow Rangers forward, Daniel Cousin?

Unfortunately, probably the biggest losers in this are King and Hodgson. King because he now has to re-assess his future after having already agreed to join Fulham and Hodgson for the realisation that with time running out and the closing of the transfer window looming ever nearer, he`s wasted some valuable time pursuing King.
