When news filtered through that Fulham had signed Julian Gray on a permanent deal until the end of the season, it caused a degree of confusion here in the office.
We were under the impression that Gray was already contracted to Fulham, albeit on loan, from Coventry City until the end of the season.
Thankfully, several of you were on hand to clear matters up.
It transpires that by signing Giles Barnes and Olivier Dacourt on loan we`d, if you include Gray, exceeded the maximum number of players you are able to acquire, at any one stage, utilising the loan system.
Therefore, to enable all three to be considered for selection one would have to become a permanent Fulham player, hence the newly afforded permanent status now granted to Gray!
We knew there would be a logical explanation somewhere out there!
