The Club Making A Move For Emerging Ivory Coast Striker Gets Our Support

|

Back in the summer, Fulham were looking at bringing a young striker to the club, however, it appears they baulked at the asking price.

The young striker, according to the tabloid publication, the Sun, was the Lyon forward, Maxwel Cornet.

The very same Maxwel Cornet who showed just how good a player he is in the midweek Champions League group fixture between Manchester City and Lyon, a game his side Lyon won.

On the back of that stunning display, our referenced source is inferring that, come the opening of the January transfer window, Fulham are set to turn their attentions to bringing the 21-year-old Ivory Coast international to Craven Cottage.

A fee of £18 million is mentioned as, perhaps, being sufficient to tempt Lyon to sell, whilst our source also gives the inference that Cornet wants to come to the Premier League.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’d welcome the club making a move for the youngster who impressed us with his power and pace when we tuned into coverage of the aforementioned Champions League fixture.

Cornet could be the perfect foil for Aleksandar Mitrovic as the club seeks to do more than just retain their Premier League status for next season.

Hopefully, the deal will go through, although if Lyon are still involved in the Champions League, in January, the deal may have to wait until the summer.
