After yet another away defeat, although one that in hindsight we could have taken something from, Martin Jol spoke about how a keeper who comes form the same town as him, in Holland, was the villain of the peace, commenting,

“Tim is from my home town. I like him and I think he`s a great talent.”

“In Holland, they rate him as one of their top keepers.”

“I spoke to him afterwards and said ‘Well done`. But I think he was surprised my players gave him a chance with some of them.”

Is that Jol`s polite way of inferring our players were not ruthless, or clinical, enough when presented with a scoring opportunity?
