“The best process”: Scott Parker insists that Fulham are working hard to stop major issue

|

You know how they say the first step to overcoming a problem is admitting it?

Well Scott Parker has been speaking about our recent penalty problems, now we just have to wait and see what he’s going to do to fix it.

Speaking ahead of Monday night’s game with Leicester City, Parker said that they have looked into the problem and are coming up with a plan that should hopefully put the ball in the net, and fan’s minds to rest:

Do you have confidence in Parker fixing the penalty situation?

Yes

No

I spoke earlier in the week about the penalty problem, and in my mind the best way to fix this is to have one trusted penalty taker and stick with them until it gets to a disastrous level. If they miss one, then that’s fine, you keep faith in them. Two in a row you can start to question, and then if they miss three in a row you can make a change.

But offering a one-strike system for something like this just isn’t the best way to go forward, as the last three penalties we’ve taken have shown. Nor did it work back in 2016/17 when we had a disastrous run when it came to spot kicks.

Put some faith in someone and hope that the trust will be enough of a mental boost to make sure that they can finish the job.

What about you? What do you think should be done to solve this penalty problem?
