Fulham fully deserved a point, definitely more than that but got nout.

Having taken the lead after David Healy intercepted a Jens Lehmann pass, the Cottagers held Arsenal for eighty-five minutes.

There were chances for both sides, with Tony Warner outstanding in goal, replacing the injured Antti Niemi.

The Gunners were pouring forward for a ten-minute period, with the defence, especially Knight and Baird doing very well, with Knight throwing himself in front of the ball at an Arsenal attack.

In the second half, Dempsey replaced Bouazza who although worked hard found the pace tough going. Dempsey had a great chance to make it two nil but lamely prodded well wide when put in by McBride.

Davis blasted straight at Lehmann whilst Toure nearly put into his own net late on.

Then Toure burst forward into the box and was body checked by the impressive Bocanegra, the result was a Robin Van Persie penalty, which he blasted into the top corner.

Fulham then conceded another goal through Hleb in the ninetieth minute.

This continues the trend of Arsenal winning late on at games in Ashburton Grove, last season beating Man Utd and Wigan late on in games.

  • Fulham would have been brave but very lucky to get a point. They got a fluke first goal and then rode their luck and GK to hang on for 83 minutes. But the team that won outclassed, outplayed and ultimately outfought fulham

  • what game were you watching. ARSENAL deserved all 3 points easily and i dont think you’ll find another journalist or editor who disagrees with that…your lucky not to have lost 6-2.

  • outclassed and outplayed with 67%-33% possesion to arsenal. fulham fought well for a long time but the time wasting was just stupid after the penalty

  • fulham deserved at least a point! I’ll think you’ll find that one editor agrees with me, Fulhams editor, Putney!

  • Fulham deserved what they got, had we been given the stonewall penalty on Hleb it would have been over a lot sooner for you, props to Warner for keeping you in it til the death tho’. Anyone else reckon Sanchez looks like a ’50s CIA operative?

  • We dominated the game and you got lucky in the first minute because of our mad keeper. You defiantely deserved what you got. But I give much praise to your keeper. He had an amazing game.

  • A draw would not have been a fair result Merlin you bloody $hit stirrer, as with Reading today only one team tried to play and win but unlike Manure we at least put 1 chance away from open play, hope Niemi recovers soon btw
